Career
André CHARDON comes from a long line of violin makers which began with  Georges CHANOT (1801-1883).
Son and Pupil of Marie Joseph Antoine Georges CHARDON, André CHARDON began his collaboration with his father in 1912.

Works
A. CHARDON quickly gained a good reputation both for his violin and bow making and was considered an expert.

Stamps and Brands
- Bows made by André CHARDON are stamped « Chanot & Chardon Paris » to the shaft, and «CCC» under the frog with the second C upside donwn.

- Bows stamped "CC Paris" or "Chanot & Chardon Paris" to the shaft, without the stamp "CCC" under the frog, were made by different makers for Chanot-Chardon.
