He certainly worked in Paris during a time, as before coming to Angers he was living at 23 rue Croix de Petits Champs, Paris XIV°. This district was an important centre for violin making at that time, and such workshops as BERNARDEL's, CHANOT's, GAND's or VUILLAUME's were located there.
After René Vanne's « Dictionary of Violin Makers », he was living in Angers as soon as 1822.
In 1835, he married Marguerite VEAU, an instrument dealer of this town.

His production is not abundant, but of good quality, his cellos being particularly appreciated.
