Biography

Career
Born in Mirecourt in 1873, Paul Victor LORANGE served his apprenticeship in his hometown under DELUNET and then Paul MANGENOT.
From 1890 - 1896, he completed his training (compagnonnage tour) first with BLANCHARD in Lyon, then GAUTIÉ in Toulouse, and finally Georges Mougenot in Brussels.
In 1898, LORANGE moved back to Lyon where he opened his own workshop in 1900. (1)
In 1919 Paul V. LORANGE retired and sold his workshop to Andre CONOT.

Production
Paul V Lorange made only around 70 Violins, all of fine quality.
This relatively small output of instruments was due to his passion for instrument restoration. (2)
