Birth : 1822 in Mirecourt (Vosges) Death : 1889 in Reims (Marne)

Known as Deroux Père.

Georges DEROUX completed his apprenticeship under Honoré DERAZEY.

In 1846 he established himself in Mirecourt where he ran a veritable school of violin making training, numerous violin makers including Alfred Ebsworth Hill where trained under his direction.
DEROUX was in charge of JJ MARTIN's production of instruments.

It is likely that Georges DEROUX trained MENNESSON in violin making as well. In 1880, DEROUX left Mirecourt to manage MENNESSON's production workshop in Reims.
