A self-taught maker, Nicola UTILI first began making guitars and mandolins as he was a talented guitar player.
He then started violin-making and ultimately developed an entirely new violin model by turning the four corners inward.

Nicola UTILI has spend a great deal in acoustical and pattern researches, presenting finally a new model of violin  without corners.
His production was estimated around 300 instrument in 1958 by R. Vannes

Label & Stamp
Beside his label all his instruments are numbered in ink to the inside on the upper left rib.

Honors & awards
1904 first price for a guitar. Ravenne Exhibition.
1928 first price for a quartet. Turin Exhibition.
