Birth : 1802 in Mirecourt Death : 1876 in Brussels


Son and pupil of Claude François IV VUILLAUME. Jean-Baptiste VUILLAUME, his elder brother, asked him to come to his Parisian workshop in 1825 where he became the first violin maker collaborator to join Jean-Baptiste.
He worked with his brother until 1828.

In 1828, he settled his own workshop in Brussels, rue Marnix.
He later moved to 30, rue Levêque, where he died in 1876.

Awards & medals
Nicolas François Vuillaume was the official Luthier of the Brussels Music Conservatory.
He won several medals in exhibitions and received the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre de LEOPOLD in 1873.

His work is good quality and his cellos made after the Stradivarius Servais are particularly appreciated.
