Max MILLANT is the grandson and pupil of Sébastien Auguste DEROUX, a violin maker who was a collaborator of SILVESTRE in Lyon and MERMILLOT in Paris, before he settled his own workshop in Paris in 1884.

Max MILLANT has been the pupil of Sébastien Auguste DEROUX before joining Léon MOUGENOT's workshop in Mirecourt.

See MILLANT Roger & Max in the maker Dictionnary.

From 1969 Max MILLANT retired in Cannes.
At that date his production changed slightly, keeping the high standard of quality and general model of the R&M MILLANT instruments but gaining a more individual look.

Max MILLANT died centenerian in Cannes in 2005.
