Birth : 1960 in Paris (île de France)


Pascal CAMURAT trained as violin maker in Mittenwald where he attained his diploma in 1983, and as bow maker in Paris.
Since then, his career has gradually become involved in many aspects of the music business : manufacturing of instruments and bows, repairing, restoration, trading of instruments and expertise.
Having made his first bow in Paul Siegfried’s shop in Los Angeles in 1984, he completed his bow training with  Stephane Thomachot.
While in  LA, he completed his training in restoration of instruments with internships at Hans Weisshaar (Los Angeles, 1985).
In 1987 Pascal CAMURAT joined the studio of Charles Beare in London.
In 1988 he came to Paris to join his Father's workshop.
When in 1990 Jacques CAMURAT retired Pascal succeeded his father in Paris with his brother Bernard, establishing themselves under the name "CAMURAT Frères"
Since 2000 Pascal CAMURAT has find his place in Montpellier where he mostly makes fine violins and bows.

Bows are built after the French classic makers of the XIX°, especially after Dominique Peccatte.
