Career
Emile LAURENT (Fils) was the son and pupil of Emile LAURENT (Père), a violin maker from Mirecourt who worked in Brussels.
From 1894-1896, he joined the workshop of Paul BLANCHARD in Lyon, before coming to Paris where he worked first for Emile Germain from 1897 to 1902 and then for CARESSA & FRANÇAIS until 1908.
In 1908, Emile LAURENT moved to Chicago to the invitation made by LYON and HEALY to become foreman of their workshop, and stayed with this well-known dealership until he returned to France in 1918, where he opened his own workshop in Bordeaux.
In 1925, Emile LAURENT sold his workshop to Amati MANGENOT, an ex collaborator of his father in Brussels.
