Birth : 1918 in Mirecourt (Vosges) Death : 2001 in Mirecourt (Vosges)

Roger GEROME belonged to a family of guitar and mandolin makers and learned his craft in his father's workshop with his three brothers.
He then developed the trade of accessories for bows and tone wood,
succeeding Fhilibert DÉCOMBE in 1956.
Beside this activity Roger GEROME developed a bow production
made by the Mirecourt bow makers of his time such as BARJONNET G.E., MORIZOT or R.F. LOTTE, and by the pupils of the Mirecourt bow making school, among them :
- MATTER Jean-Yves
- MULLER Stephane
- ROLLAND Benoît

Most of the finest bows stamped by R. GEROME, and especially Ivory or Tortoiseshell bows, have been made by G.E. BARJONNET.

Bows are stamped "Gerome Devoivre
", DEVOIVRE being the name of his wife added to his name as it happened frequently in the Mirecourt tradition.
