Biography

Career
Of the six sons of bow maker Louis Joseph MORIZOT, known as MORIZOT Père, five took up the same craft and perpetuated the familiy traditiion.
The five sons, Paul, Louis, André, Georges and Marcel served their apprenticeships under their father before becoming his collaborators. They succeeded their father in 1937

The MORIZOT workshop closed circa 1970 when André MORIZOT joined his brother René, a violin maker, in his workshop located in the family house at 8 rue Saint Georges in Mirecourt. André MORIZOT assured a steady production until his death in 1978.

Stamps & brands
Three different stamps have been used by this workshop: two small stamps that read "L. MORIZOT" with different characters, and one large stamp that reads "L. MORIZOT"
