Biography

Career
Son of Joseph E. SARTORY,  a bow maker, Eugène SARTORY served his apprenticeship with his father.
He then joined the workshops of Charles PECCATTE and Alfred LAMY in Paris.

Workshop
In 1899 he established his own workshop 12, Bvd Bonne Nouvelle.
In 1902 he moved his workshop to 13 rue du Faubourg Poissonière.
In 1912 he made one final move to 3, Cité Trévise.

Stamps and Brands
A first stamp, with large letters, was used during SARTORY's very early period.
The second stamp, with smaller letters, was then used throughout the rest of his career.

Honors and Awards :
Eugène SARTORY won medals and prizes at various exhibitions and competitions :
1887 Silver Medal. Bruxelles (Belgium)
1894 Silver Medal. Lyon (France) International and Colonial Exhibition.
1900 Paris (France) Universal and International Exhibition.
1905 Diplome d'Honneur. Liege (Belgique) Universal and International Exhibition.
1906 Diplome d'Honneur. Milan (Italie) Exposizione Internationale del Sempione
1908 Diplome d'Honneur. Londres (Great-Britain) Franco-British Exhibition
