Jules Gaillard was the son of Louis GAILLARD, a violin maker and brother of Charles GAILLARD who worked with Charles Adolphe GAND, but we know very little about him.
He worked in Mirecourt during the XIX century and his style fits the spirit of this period and place.

As was the case with many workshops of this time, one can find differences in the quality of GAILLARD's production, with some instruments boasting a very fine workmanship and style.

It is noted that Paul Joseph BAILLY was one of GAILLARD's collaborators.
