Birth : 1830 in Mirecourt (Vosges) Death : 1865 in Paris (Ile de France)


The son and pupil of Louis GAILLARD, Charles GAILLARD joined the workshop  of Charles Adolphe GAND in Paris as a collaborator. He later became GAND's first assistant.

In 1851, Charles GAILLARD established his own workshop in Paris at 5 Faubourg Poissonière before moving, in 1865, to 20 Rue Notre Dame de Recouvrance.

Beside his printed label, on which the two last digits of the date are added in ink, as well as in some cases the instrument number, one can find :
- date, number, address in pencil to the inside back or top.
- stamp "CHARLES GAILLARD A PARIS" to the inside back and top.
