Biography

Career
Rene Bailly was the son of the MIRECOURT violin maker Charles BAILLY, and is not a relation to Paul BAILLY.

Little is known about his life except that he did live in Paris and the Provinces.
For a period of time, he worked as the commercial agent for the Deblaye Workshop.
During the period of 1936-37, we know that he returned to MIRECOURT and possibly worked with his father.
He is registered during this time as a violin maker in the MIRECOURT professional directory.
After this date, we can not find any mention of him.

Works
In one of the Deblaye catalogs, we can find a line of instruments bearing his name and from this one can deduct that his name was used as a trademark by Deblaye.
