Biography

Career
Justin Amédée DERAZEY was the son of Jean Joseph Honoré DERAZEY, the well known violin maker who worked for JB VUILLAUME. 
Justin learned his craft from his father.

Workshop
According to the HENLEY's Dictionnary, J.A. DERAZEY opened his workshop in MIRECOURT in 1850.(1)
J.A. DERAZEY succeeded his father in 1879.

In 1883, the year of Honoré's death, Justin renews the trademark registration: “À la Ville de Cremonne”

Label & stamp
Like his father, Justin DERAZEY used the facsimile label of Italian makers whose works inspired him to create his own models.
In those cases, next to the facsimile label, one can find Justin's stamp (see iconography).

J A DERAZEY’s instruments are all of a fine quality, and usually are the same quality as those of his illustrious father.
