Biography

 

According to the family tree established by Roland Terrier, Emile FÉTIQUE was born in MIRECOURT on September 30, 1838, not in 1839 as written in some biographies. (1)

The son of Joseph FÉTIQUE, a MIRECOURT violin maker, Emile worked for Jean Joseph Honoré DERAZEY and Gautrot, before establishing himself on the rue de Turenne in Paris.

Works
Rene Vannes (2) states that he made “some good violins coated with an orange- red varnish”. We have also seen a fine cello coated with orange varnish, bearing the influence of MIRECOURT workmanship and model.
