Career
When Benoit Rolland entered the Bow Making School in MIRECOURT in 1971 to study with the Master Bernard OUCHARD, he had already received a degree in violin and composition from the Paris conservatory .
Upon graduation from MIRECOURT, he returned to Paris and opened in 1976 his studio on the rue Laborde.

In 1982, ROLLAND moved to Brehat Island in Brittany where during the next six years he devoted himself to esthetic and technical research, far away from the busy life of the Capital city.

In 2001, Benoit ROLLAND and his artist wife Christine ARVEIL moved to Boston MA USA, where they opened a joint studio pursuing musical and artistic studies in conjunction with his bow making.

Work
To date, Benoit ROLLAND has made by hand around 1800 bows and around 1500 from his workshop made with carbon fiber.
