Resumen

VIOLIN MAKER and EXPERT

Biografía

Career
Paul, Clément, JOMBAR served his apprenticeship with Nestor D. AUDINOT with whom he worked from 1882 to 1886.
He then joined GAND & BERNARDEL Frères in Paris, that collaboration lasted six years.
In 1892 he set up his own workshop at 20, rue Rochechouart in Paris.
He later moved to 27, rue du Faubourg Poissonière and, finally, to 37, rue de Rome.

Jombar obviously had interests beyond violin making, and was a member of the Societe Nautique de Lagny.
The June 10, 1913 edition of "l'Aero" reports that he placed first in a regatta on the aptly named "le Luth”, a cruiser in the under 6m50 class."

Works
JOMBAR's production was made after the great Classical masters, mainly Antonio Stradivari. His instruments are generally coated with an orange to rich red-brown varnish.
