Career
Natural son and pupil of E. LAURENT, Georges DEFAT served his apprenticeship with Paul MANGENOT before coming to Paris in 1920 to work with MAUCOTEL & DESCHAMPS.
He established his workshop in 1926 on Rue Biot in Paris.

Works
DEFAT’s instruments are made both on a personal pattern and after the great Italian masters.

Labels and Stamps
DEFAT’s instruments generally bear both his label and a stamp on the lowest rib, just over the button.
