To French violin and bow makers of all generation, MIRECOURT is regarded as the cradle of the French violin making, and it is also the place where their roots are.
Many of them were born there or have apprenticed to learn the their thechnique, so specialized ad so necessary in making a fine instrument aor bow.

Some of them, like Jean-Baptiste VUILLAUME, Dominique PECCATTE and many others, ahve become famous thans to their talent, highly praised by musicians all over the world.

Nowadays the qualit of the instruments and bows made in Mirecourt jasn't diminished.
The "City of Violins", as it has been nicknamed, is still worthy of its reputation.
