Label & stamp
G. VUILLAUME used different ways to label and stamp his instruments.
In general instruments are stamped to the outside back, under the heel of the neck.
In that case, they bear the label of the maker, dated, numbered and signed in ink.
More rarely one can find a stamp applied in triangle to the insdie back. (see Iconography).
In some occasions we have found facsimile labels of Italian makers whose works inspired him to create his own models.
