Career
Son of the MIRECOURT luthier Joseph Pierre Francois CHAROTTE, Pierre Francois CHAROTTE became a luthier like his two brothers.
While some authors date his birth as 1794, justifying his title of oldest, we have for our part retained the date of 1801, as established by Roland Terrier in his genealogical tree of the CHAROTTE family, which makes him the youngest of three brothers (2).

We know nothing of his apprenticeship, nor about the reasons that led him to settle in 1830 at 36 rue Beauvoisin in Rouen.

On his death in 1836, Pierre Napoleon JEANDEL, who had joined him as a collaborator, succeeded him.
